Dr. Heather Starling, the eye doctor at Starling Eye Group, makes it a policy to ensure that all staff members are up-to-date on the latest eye care developments and technology to make your visit as comfortable and effective as possible. Since optometric technology is constantly changing, it is important to select an eye doctor who possesses all the necessary optometry qualifications and follows the latest advancements in eye care.

Dr. Heather Starling, Diplomate American Board of Optometry

Dr. Heather Moose Starling is a Board-Certified Optometric Physician and has been practicing in Gainesville for over 20 years. She specializes in primary family care optometry, including specialty contact lens fittings and has a special interest in diagnosing and managing eye disease.
Dr. Starling received her B.S. in biology from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY and her B.S. in visual optics from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree in 1995 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA. She completed her residency in primary care optometry and ocular disease at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA. In 2017 she achieved the status of Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She is also a member of the National Glaucoma Society and a professional member of the American Diabetes Association.
Dr. Starling began Starling Eye Group in 1998 and has a passion for making sure her patients receive excellent care. She implements all of the latest technology and instrumentation in order to practice at the highest level.
In her leisure time, Dr. Starling enjoys spending time with her husband Troy, daughter Reagan, her Golden Retriever Sophie, and her horse Eddy. Dr. Starling enjoys wake boarding and boating with her family, riding dressage, and going to Gator football games.
Sarah
Sarah is a licensed and board-certified Optician and Certified Paraoptometric Technician that has been with Starling Eye Group since 2011! Sarah loves to spend time with her family in her free time and also loves gardening and cooking.
Lauren
Lauren is a Certified Paraoptometric Assistant and has been with Starling Eye Group since 2015. Lauren attended the University of Hawaii and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science with a minor in Project Management. Her favorite things include being with her husband and 2 kids, going on day trips to the beach, and snowboarding.
