Nutrition at Starling Eye Group
At Starling Eye Group we are committed to your overall health and wellness. This is a special area of interest for Dr. Starling. We use a Biophotonic Scanner that measures your carotenoid levels through your skin. This correlates with the amount of carotenoids present in your body, which serve as the building blocks of our anti-oxidant network.
Studies consistently show us the importance of anti-oxidants in prevention and management of diseases such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, cognitive issues, as well as many others. Of special interest at Starling Eye Group, is the research regarding glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
Unfortunately, most of us are not getting the nutritional benefits we need from our diets alone, so we recommend supplementation where appropriate. If supplements are recommended, we will monitor you at 60 days to make sure your levels (and overall nutrition) are improving.
